New plan for this blog

When I first started this blog, I was thinking that it will be something like a place for gossip. But now I am seeing that lots of people are interested in it.

So I am planning to make this a place for people to share ideas on how to train children to become people with good character. It will also be a place for girl children to learn how to avoid predators. I myself I am the father of 2 beautiful girl children and I have many beautiful young nieces and nephews also. I love all girl children like my own children, no matter from where they are, whether they are from Korea or Japan or China or India or America or Russia or anywhere in the world. It doesn't matter

Already we are reading in the paper and on television about so many crimes against girl children. We must build a healthy society of men and women where there is very healthy mutual respect for each other. Unless that is achieved, we cannot live peacefully in this world, and it will come to an end one day.

So everybody, please contribute your ideas on how we can build up a very healthy, clean minded generation of boys and girls who have healthy respect for each other. Long live the girl child! Long live the boy child! Long live humanity!

How did Anand Jon become like this?

How did Anand Jon become like this? What was the starting of the problem? Sometimes in life some incidents can trigger people to begin doing such things. It has been observed in some (not all) criminals. I have read in some articles that Anand Jon's grandmother used to enjoy his flirtatious ways, instead of correcting him. Is it true? Did some incidents in life cause him to become like this? I don't mean to say that rape and child abuse which he did can be excused due to all that. I know, his father and mother divorced when he was still a child. Did all that contribute to his criminal behaviour? Was he a problem child? Or is it a simple case of bad upbringing? If his friends or classmates or anybody is reading, please post your comments.

Should I delete this blog?

I was thinking, should I delete my blog? I myself read all the entries I made, and I think it is very cruel at some places. Maybe as cruel as Anand Jon was with some of the young girls! :)

All good people out there on the web, please send your comments. If you feel that my blog is not serving any purpose, then please vote to delete it. After 2 or 3 months, I will see the votes and then take a decision whether to delete it or not. Thank you!

I feel sorry for Anand Jon and his family also

I was just doing a little bit browsing of my own blog, and I was seeing that I was highly critical of Anand Jon and his family. For eg., if Shashi Abraham or Sanjana Jon search on google and find this blog, then it will pain them. They are already in lot of pain. So I was thinking, why to simply be cruel to them? I feel sorry for them also. They love each other as much as I love my family and my family loves me. So it is not good to add cruelty on top of their pain.

I feel sorry for them also. I hope that they are praying devoted and with humility to God every day. God will give them comfort from their pain. Without humuility if anyone prays, their prayer may not reach God. The other day, I myself prayed for Anand Jon and his family, and I felt great peace. I prayed that God will give comfort, to all the young girl children whom Anand Jon abused, and also to Anand Jon and his family also.

Anand Jon, Shashi Abraham or Sanjana Jon, if you have seen my blog, and you have been hurt by anything I wrote, I am extremely sorry, and I humbly seek your forgiveness. If you want, I will delete my blog, if it will reduce your pain. God bless all of you!

Today is Easter, what will Anand Jon eat?

Today is Easter. Today is the day when Jesus Christ rose up from the dead and all men got salvation through Jesus Christ.

For us Malayali Christians, it is a day of splendid feasting, after fourty days of fasting. If you go to any Malayali Christian home, you will get a splendid meal. Today morning, after coming back from church, I ate a delicious breakfast of appams and chicken curry. My daughters and wife also sat with me and ate. I ate 8 appams with chicken curry! :) At one point, my wife told me that if I eat more, I will get some disease! :) Then I slept and woke up again for lunch. At lunch, we had more delicious food. For dinner, my wife and daughter is making kappa and fish curry. It is the most delicious food in Kerala. No Malayali can ever resist the temptation of kappa and fish curry! :)

Today I was thinking, what will Anand Jon eat for breakfast or lunch or dinner? If he had been a good boy, studied well, respected people, and concentrated on his career, all these would have been available to him also. But alas!

Anyway from here in Karugachal I cannot do anything, but I was thinking, if I was in America, if it was possible, I could myself have taken some of these things to him and given some fellowship to him. But I cannot, because in America jails they are very strict. They will not allow any outside food brought by the family of the prisoners. Because in some cases, they might mix with drugs and all, and it will cause problems inside the jail. So even if we wish we cannot take any food for him. Even his mother was sadly saying that she cannot take for him anything. How sad!

I hope that Anand Jon will realize the enormity of his mistakes and I hope that one day, he can be free to enjoy these pleasures of life. There is no greater pleasure in life than being with your family.

But still, I wish Happy Easter to Anand Jon, Shashi Abraham and Sanjana Jon. I pray that God Jesus gives you comfort.

Deceit by Design - another article about Anand Jon

I read another article again on the web about Anand Jon. It was saying that he was simply doing auditions for models, whether or not he had any work to give them or not. Please read the article:

Deceit By Design

When Newsweek magazine labelled Indian-born fashion designer Anand Jon as the "one to watch in 2007", little did it know how ironically prescient that prophecy would turn out to be. Jon, 33, who lists Paris Hilton and Janet Jackson among his many celebrity friends and clients, now finds himself in the harsh glare of the media spotlight following an arrest at his Beverly Hills apartment on March 6.

"He held auditions, whether or not he needed models. He was a fraud."

He has been charged with sexually assaulting five women and two girls, aged 15 and 17. At the time of going to press, Jon was in a Los Angeles County jail trying to muster the $1.365 million amount for bail, as his attorney told Outlook. An arraignment has been set for April 4.

"He held auditions, whether or not he needed models. He was a fraud."

The 15 counts of felony and five of misdemeanour include charges ranging from rape and sexual battery to committing a lewd act on a child. Initially accused of crimes against three women, on Monday Los Angeles County prosecutors added other charges involving four more alleged victims against Jon. The charges carry a potential life sentence.

The investigation was prompted by a complaint on March 5 from a girl—listed as "Jessie B."—who told detectives in Beverly Hills that Jon had assaulted her on the night of March 4. "He lured these girls to be models and, once here, sexually assaulted them," Jane Robison, a Los Angeles County district attorney's office spokeswoman said on Monday. She said there might be "numerous additional victims".

Jon's lawyer Ronald Richards called the charges "ridiculous". He admitted Jon knew the seven women "through his work" but said his client denied any "illegal sex" took place. His interview with Outlook was interrupted by a call from Jon. "He's doing great," the lawyer later said. "He doesn't understand why these charges are being filed, but he's looking forward to contesting them."

Richards alleged one of the girls associated with the complaint was an admitted drug user, lied about her age and had sex just prior to meeting Jon.

"He always had a lot of young girls in his apartment. He saw himself as royalty."

He said he had a security camera tape from Jon's building that showed the girl enter the designer's apartment in Beverly Hills. "She changed into pajamas and slipped into bed with him," Richards claimed. "My client is only 5'6" and 150 pounds. There were three girls in the apartment at the time. How could he rape them? They could have easily tackled him."

"He always had a lot of young girls in his apartment. He saw himself as royalty."

Richards has filed a motion to dismiss an assault claim first made in 2005, saying his client's rights were violated. On May 5, 2005, "Natalie P." told police in Ohio she had been raped by Jon on October 19, 2004. "Natalie P." is now among the seven alleged victims who have complained against Jon. Richards said there is "not a scintilla of corroborative evidence that any intercourse even occurred" with "Natalie P.".

Jon's family is standing firmly behind him. In a statement, they said the designer, "like everyone else in the court system is innocent until proven otherwise, not the other way around. In America, you're not supposed to be tried in the media, but everyone has a right to their day in court to defend themselves". The statement quotes Jon's sister Sanjana as saying she "firmly believes in the innocence of my brother. I've worked alongside him for many years and he always maintained a professional relationship with the workers, models and the volunteers".

The March 4 assault claim was made by a girl Jon met on Internet networking site MySpace.com. Jon's lawyer told Outlook his client had been chatting online with her for many months before he decided to pay for her plane ticket so she could visit him in Los Angeles. He wanted her to come over because he thought they would date, Richards explained, adding, "A lot of men in Los Angeles fly women in to date them." He said Jon has denied any illegal sexual activity took place.

Chris Hulbert, a former publicist for the designer, claimed Jon acted inappropriately towards his 19-year-old date at a Manhattan club in 1997. "He put his arm on her neck and said 'You have a very nice neck, would you like to have sex with me?'," Hulbert told Outlook. "She was freaked out."

Hulbert, who first started working with Jon in 1997, said that the experience "did not work out very well". He was also working for the 'Take Back New York' charity at the time and recounted how Jon would use it to host shows and then pocket the proceeds. "It's a bizarre twist to the story that the charity is an advocacy group for victims of paedophiles," Hulbert said. He complains the designer would dress his models in revealing clothes. "Every time they walked out onto the ramp, their breasts would be exposed. I was really disturbed by that," he said. Hulbert, who claims he helped Jon get noticed with a New York Post story headlined 'New Kid on the Block', ended his association with the designer after nine months. "I saw the guy as a creep—he was robbing everyone."

Teigan Annsaint, an electrical engineer living in Newport Beach, California, said Jon would call him every time he visited Los Angeles. He said he never saw Jon do "anything inappropriate with women". But, Annsaint also told Outlook, "every time he came to LA, he held auditions whether or not he needed models. It was a fraud. He had no work to give them. He was just promoting himself. I often heard he would tell women he could do a lot for them."

While the media and celebrities gush over Jon's designs, Annsaint maintained he "doesn't know a thing about design". He recounted an incident when Jon asked him to help put a show together and alleged the designer kept him shut in a room in a Manhattan apartment and forced him to sew his clothes. "I had no idea I'd be pressured into being free labour. He was never there designing, except when models were present," he claimed. The experience has left him bitter.

Hulbert echoed this complaint. "He always had a lot of very, very young girls living in his apartment in Manhattan. These models and aspiring models would sleep on little mats. Jon viewed himself as royalty, always playing the celebrity role. No one dares speak against him. Most of the girls were intimidated," he said.

A journalist with an Indian-American publication told Outlook that Anand had "no credibility with me, but it has often been tough to find proof of his shenanigans". Speaking on condition of anonymity, the journalist credited the Jon family's PR skills with keeping him out of trouble so far.

Ironically, among Jon's many upcoming projects is one in which he was to play a bad boy Indian fashion designer in a film by Bend It Like Beckham director Gurinder Chadha. His previous TV experience includes appearing in several segments of the America's Next Top Model reality show.

Jon studied in Kerala up to the 7th grade, before moving to St Michaels Academy in Chennai. He came to the United States in 1991 at the age of 16. According to several reports, Jon was at an event in Milan when celebrity designer Giorgio Armani complimented his taste in clothing and inspired him to pursue a career in fashion. He then moved to New York to attend Parsons School of Design.

His troubles have begun taking a toll on his work—and his immigration status here. US immigration officials have placed Jon, who is reportedly in the final stages of his Green Card application process, on a detainer—in which the US Citizenship and Immigration Service seek custody of someone in the custody of another law-enforcement agency. On March 20, he was forced to cancel the debut of his new range of jeans in Culver City, California. His friends and admirers in the fashion industry rue how the promising Indian star has come crashing down to Earth.

What Harmeet Bajaj said about Anand Jon - Anand Jon’s talent could have never got him any publicity

I was reading an article about what a fashion academician called Harmeet Bajaj said about Anand Jon. She was saying that his designs were no good, and by his design talent alone, he could not have got any publicity. She is doubting his designing talent. I am copy pasting that article below:

Anand Jon’s talent could have never got him any publicity

Anand Jon Alexander was sentenced to a minimum of 59 years of imprisonment in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday. The 35-year-old, who has dressed Paris Hilton and Janet Jackson, was found guilty of 14 counts, including rape, sexual battery, and performing lewd acts on a child.

Though his family has been rallying to get the Indian government to intervene in the designer’s case, the designer has few friends in the fashion fraternity. His name merely sparks minor recognition among the champagne set in New Delhi.

Harmeet Bajaj, CEO of Bian, says, “I had done a show with him in New York. Though I didn’t know him much, he was quite friendly and interactive with the guests. I only spoke to him on professional grounds. As a designer, I don’t think he was any good. Nothing about his clothes or his personality was striking or impressive. His garments were a cheap version of Indian fusion wear, which he tried to pass off to the West. His talent could have never got him any publicity.”

Rohit Bal, who was among those rallying for Jon, under the leadership of his sister Sanjana, said, “I met Anand a couple of times in New York; this was in the ‘80s. In the beginning of his career, he was a young, sweet lad - very approachable and friendly. I have not had the chance to judge his designing sensibilities.”

Difference between Bitti Mohanty and Anand Jon

Nowadays one boy called Bitti Mohanty in in the news because he was caught after long time for raping a German lady. I was thinking about the similarity between his case and Anand Jon case.

Bitti Mohanty raped a German woman. I don't know whether he did more rapes. Nothing is recorded. But in his youth, he might have done many wrong things. His father was a high ranking police official, so he might have escaped also.

But when I was reading about what all he was doing after running away from the law, I think that he was sincerely trying to turn a new leaf in his life. Agreed, he committed indiscretions in his youth. But after that, he went to a teacher in Puttuparthi, took help in reforming himself, then he studied MBA, wrote entrance exam for State Bank of India Probationary Officers post, and then he was working silently to make a new living. All his colleagues in the bank and all his neighbours were saying that he was very polite and well behaved and did not cause any trouble to anyone. In the 7 years in which he was on the run also, it seems he did not commit any more crimes.

Unfortunately, his past caught up with him. Kerala police caught him and handed him over to Rajasthan police. Now he faces jail and all. He also faces punishment for running away from the law.

But on the whole, somewhy, I have some sympathy for him. He was trying to reform from his life and beak away from his past. I hope he is not punished very badly. I hope that the courts will recognize that he is not beyond reform, and give him another chance. If he himself was trying to reform himself, then why courts should not give him a chance.

What are the options before Anand Jon now?

By the way, I like to know, what are the options before Anand Jon now? He is sentenced to 59 years in jail, is there any chance that it can be reduced? Or is he condemned to live all his life in jail? If any American lawyers are reading this, please let me know. Already I think one or two appeals have been rejected.

Anand Jon pleaded guilty in New York and Texas

The case against Anand Jon was not only there in California, it was there in different parts of America, like New York and Texas also. In California, he was found guilty and sentenced to 59 years in prison. California was the first place where his trial was held, after that only he was taken to other places to face the trial there.

When they brought him for trial in New York and Texas, he pleaded guilty for his crimes, so they gave him lenient sentence there. After all when he is already serving 59 years in jail in one place then what is the point in giving him another lengthy sentence in another place also. Not only that, the courts also did not want to make the young women to testify again, because that will cause a lot of mental agony to them. As part of the plea deals in New York and Texas, Anand Jon was also given some documents which he can use in his appeal in California.

Shashi Abraham and Sanjana Jon were saying that in New York, Anand Jon was found innocent of 48 out of 49 charges of rape. That day I was seeing a news item in which she was saying like that.

No it is not like that, Anand Jon entered a plea deal, he was not found innocent. From wikipedia, I am copy pasting a sentence about plea deal:

"A plea bargain allows both parties to avoid a lengthy criminal trial and may allow criminal defendants to avoid the risk of conviction at trial on a more serious charge."

The wise thing for Anand Jon to do was to plead guilty in California also, because they might have given him a lenient sentence there also on that basis. Anyway I hope that the appeals which he has entered in California will be successful, and he can come out of jail and praise God for his mercy.

Why is that fellow Yesudas supporting Anand Jon?

Why that fellow Yesudas is supporting Anand Jon I don't know. He is a world famous singer, who has sung the maximum number of songs in maximum number of languages. His wife is Shashi Abraham's sister, so that way Anand Jon is his nephew. He has been going to all the Kerala MLAs and asking for help for Anand Jon. At all the support meetings which Shashi Abraham and Sanjana Jon have been holding, this fellow Yesudas has been speaking and saying that Anand Jon is a good boy, etc., etc. Do good boys rape girls Yesudas? Then on what basis you are saying that he is a good boy?

Indian Government did the best for Anand Jon

The Indian goverment has done as much as possible for it to do in the case of Anand Jon. But because India and America are friends, we cannot interfere in the judicial process of America. I was reading an old article in Times of India. I am copy pasting that below.

Please read the article:

India expresses concerns over Anand Jon's trial

WASHINGTON: India, without giving any impression to interfere with the judicial process in the US, has expressed concerns with the State of California over the manner in which Indian fashion designer Anand Jon Alexander is being tried for a number of cases of alleged sexual abuse and alleged rape.

"While in no way wishing to interfere with the judicial process, the Government of India is concerned at the lack of adequate information and opportunity to an Indian citizen to defend himself," the Consulate General of India in San Francisco has said in a statement.

The Government of India have noted media reports of judicial proceedings which indicate instances where exculpatory evidence was either destroyed or withheld from the defendant, it said.

The Consul General of India in San Francisco, after receiving instructions from his government, called on the Attorney General of the State of California, Edmund G Brown Jr on Thursday and expressed his government's concerns at the publicly reported omissions and commissions in the due judicial process.

The Counsel General also requested the Attorney General to ensure that Anand Jon, an Indian citizen, was given every opportunity to defend himself to the fullest extent provided under the US laws.

"Exculpatory evidence, which reportedly have been destroyed and withheld by the State, should be made available to him for a full and fair assessment by the Jury and also to the Defence without prejudice in the interest of the fair process of law," the statement said.

"The concerns of the Government of India were noted by the Attorney General of California who assured that he would look into them," said the statement.

Casting couch exists everywhere is not an excuse

Some people are saying that casting couch exists everywhere. They are saying, in India also, if actresses want roles in films, then they should prepare to be raped by producers. But they don't get punished, so Anand Jon also should not be punished.

That is not an excuse at all. If young women who want roles are raped in India, then that is a very bad thing. You cannot use one wrong to justify another wrong. Instead of saying that Anand Jon should not be punished, the police and authorities should take steps to punish the film producers and actors who do such things. Otherwise if it continues like that, then not only for film acting, people will start taking advantage of women for everything one day. Then it will be very bad for our culture and our country.

Anand Jon was sentenced to probation for sex crimes in 2003, before his 59 year sentence in 2008

Some people are asking me whether Anand Jon should be jailed for 59 years or not. They think that 59 years is too much punishment.

Before being sentenced to jail for 59 years in the year 2008, in 2003 he was given probation for committing a lewd act on a minor in USA.  Anand Jon should have taken this as a second chance and an opportunity to reform himself. But unfortunately he did not. Please read the below article about it:

The imprisoned celebrity designer was arrested and charged for a sex crime with a child in 2003.
In a shocking revelation we have learned that Indian-born celebrity designer Anand Jon, who is in LA County Jail under charges of rape and sexual assault of four women, has been arrested before for sex crimes.

Jon was arrested and charged with committing a lewd act on a child in 2003. Apparently, the New York-based designer pleaded no contest and was required to undergo sex therapy for 52 weeks as a part of probation orders.

He was also asked not to interact with any person below 18 years of age without the presence of a responsible adult. Jon completed his probation orders in 2005.

The 33-year-old is now facing charges of rape and forced copulation in incidents between October 2004 and March 2007.

The designer's current counsel, Ronald Richards, said that his client's earlier lawyer had exposed the overcharged case which was settled "for a low grade non-priorable, non-registerable, non-admissible plea of no contest, that was wiped out later".

Richards also said that Jon had been charged of rape during his probation period, and that during the period, the police and the court did not complain about violations of orders.

"At no time did the DA's (district attorney) office or the police ever disclose to the court any violations of any law during his three-year summary informal probation, which includes the 2004 incident to which he has now been charged for," he said.

Why we should have a healthy attitude

In India, people from South India and North India are known for dressing up fully in pant and shirt, shirt and mundu, sari, salwar kameeze, etc. But we have lot of people from North Eastern states of India in our metro cities. If you see them, they are mostly in very different and colourful type of clothes.

Some of the north eastern boys and girls I have seen wear sleeveless t-shirts and shorts. That is their unique culture. We should respect it. It is quite outrageous to go to a young boy or girls from Mizoram or Meghalaya and force him or  her to dress like us. As time goes forward, more and more people will come in contact with each other. We should accept and respect every person's sense of dressing and living as they are. We should not simply say that just because they are not like us, they are bad people.

That is what Anand Jon and his family failed to realize. They should have concentrated on their career, instead of taking advantage of young girls from USA. If they had done that, they would have been better off than they are now.
